I've found my furever family!

Poor Darnell has been through a lot! This big tub of love has been adopted from Heavenly Paws twice, and is, once again, looking for a forever home.

Darnell was adopted for the first time in 2018 and enjoyed almost seven years with a loving owner. Unfortunately, she passed away in early 2025. Darnell - scared, confused and very overweight - found himself back in foster care. He was terrified but eventually came around and was adopted again a few months later. Unfortunately, for reasons we haven't been able to pinpoint, he was not happy in his new home, and he was returned.

Darnell was scared and confused again, but he soon made a friend - a little 4-month-old kitten named Maxine! Darnell immediately "adopted" Maxine when she arrived in rescue, grooming her, snuggling her and helping her find her confidence. While they can be adopted separately if the right home comes along, we would love to find them a home together if possible! (Check out Maxine's profile here).

Darnell has a clean bill of health (including a recent blood panel and urine check) but he does have some personality quirks and will require a quiet, cat-savvy home. Underneath his beefy exterior is a gentle, sensitive soul who loves belly rubs and being brushed. Could you finally give Darnell the forever home he deserves? Darnell is estimated to be about 7-8 years old and is neutered and up to date on vaccines.
